The Russians allegedly shot down a large number of Ukrainian Drones over Crimea

Russian air defense systems destroyed 38 drones launched by Ukraine over the Crimean peninsula, the state news agency RIA reported on Sunday, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

Reuters earlier reported that road traffic near the Crimean port of Feodosia was temporarily restricted, citing statements from Russian officials in Crimea that came after reports of several powerful explosions in the area on Ukrainian and Russian social media.

Road traffic is also closed on the bridge that connects the Crimean peninsula with the Russian mainland, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian administration that manages the bridge, Fena reports citing other media sources.

Reuters could not independently verify reports of the explosions. There were no subsequent comments from Ukrainian officials about this case either.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in Antalya on Saturday that Russia will deploy additional weapons in the newly formed Moscow and Leningrad Military Districts in response to the entry of Finland and Sweden into NATO, according to reports.

Lavrov emphasized that Russia does not rely too much on Switzerland’s help in the peace process for Ukraine, since that country, as he stated, “lost its neutrality a long time ago.”
