Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that at least 41 people were killed in the Russian attack on the city of Poltava, in the eastern part of Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian president announced, another 180 people were injured in one of the largest Russian attacks in recent times.
According to Ukrainian media, Russia fired two ballistic missiles at Poltava. The educational and medical centers in this city were affected.
The Ministry of Defense says that they ordered an evacuation, but that the rockets were so fast that a large number of citizens did not have time to go to safety before the impact.
It is suspected that more victims are under the ruins of the affected buildings, and around 25 people have been rescued so far.
