The city of Banja Luka will announce a tender for the selection of contractors for renovation and restoration of facades and decorative lighting on Banski Dvor during the next week.

As noted in the supplemented Project of renovation and restoration of the facade of Banski Dvor, which was prepared by the Faculty of Architectural and Civil Engineering from Banja Luka, the approach to renovation, and especially restoration, was responsible and delicate task considering the architectural, historical, cultural and urban value of Banski Dvor, as well as its importance and role in the city.
“Every intervention on the objects of architectural heritage represents a complex process, which requests studying of all available archive materials, historiography and, of course, detailed research of the current state of the object. The renovation and restoration project is based on relevant exact elements of the reconstruction of façade and façade plastics,” as noted in the project.
Reconstruction of facade and lightening is the second phase of the reconstruction of the most important cultural institution in the city, for which was provided a total of 2.5 million BAM thanks to the help of the Government of the RS.
The first phase, which refers to the restoration of the roof, is taking place at the moment. The value of these works is estimated at a total of 514,000 BAM, and the works are done by the company “Koto” from Belgrade. Moreover, the restoration of roof was a priority issue because the building was decaying due to rain leakage. The roof covering will be made of copper, in order for the roof to keep its authentic looks.
