The premiere of the show “Destination of Francophonie: Bosnia and Herzegovina” was held on Wednesday in Sarajevo, organized by the French Embassy and the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in partnership with the Municipality of Stari Grad and the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton.

The Ambassador of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Francois Delmas, said before the start that the French language is spoken by 321 million people in the world and that it is the language of diplomacy and business that is used on five continents.

He pointed out that with the support of the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the television channel TV5 Monde, which is watched all over the world, recorded reports on Bosnia and Herzegovina that will be broadcast to a global audience.

“This will allow us to have a show in which the whole world talks about Francophonie in BiH and specifically about Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a way to show how the language can be used to talk about a country and thereby stimulate interest in that country,” said Delmas.

The TV5 Monde team, which visited Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka and Bihać in April this year, talked to the residents of those four cities about their love for the French language and their country.

The Sarajevo premiere was held a few days after the 19th Francophonie Summit in Villers-Cotterets, which highlighted French as the international language of creation, business and innovation, Radio Sarajevo writes.
