B&H-Montenegro Border oslobodjenje.baThe President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović has stated that, together with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić, he has accepted the initiative of the President of Austria Heinz Fischer that Montenegro and B&H sign the agreement on the border on August 27th in Vienna.

He made the statement at a press conference after a meeting which was attended by Ivanić and the presidents of the countries of the region, as part of the Summit “Brdo – Brioni Process” held in Budva.

This is one in a series of conclusions from yesterday’s summit, and Vujanović said that the Conference of Presidents of the Western Balkan countries with the EU representatives, which will also be attended by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is to be held on August 27th in Vienna.

This, he explained, would be the first agreement in the region of the former Yugoslavia which would send the message that the countries in the region can agree on an important and sensitive issue.

The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović, the host of the Summit, said at a press conference that the participants of the meeting concluded that, without the Western Balkans, the EU is incomplete and there is a need to accept the region into the membership, so that the Union is a whole.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the President of Austria Heinz Fischer, the main topic was the situation in the region, with special attention paid to the events in Macedonia.

The meeting aims to encourage the dialogue among countries, to strengthen economic cooperation and regional dialogue with the EU.

The summit is also an opportunity for numerous bilateral meetings between the participants.
