The situation in the north of Kosovo is calm, but tense, the Kosovo police announced.

The police confirmed that two employees of the “Rajska banja” hotel in Banjska were arrested last night, and that weapons, two cars and an excavator were allegedly confiscated.

After two days, bread was delivered to the residents of Banjska today, because yesterday and the day before yesterday, the police did not allow the bakery delivery people from Zubina Potok to go to the village.

The police at the highway intersection did not allow trucks to enter Banjska even this morning.

The residents got the bread when the owner of one of the shops in Banjska came to the intersection.

Some residents are allowed to leave the town after passing rigorous checks.

All approaches to the village of Banjska, from the direction of Zvečan, Zubina Potok and the highway Kosovska Mitrovica – Leposavić are closed, as well as the administrative crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak.

The only possible entry is through the Merdare administrative crossing.

As of today, three days of mourning have been declared in Serbian communities in Kosovo, after Serbian youths were killed on Sunday, September 24, in Banjska in a conflict with members of the Kosovo police.
