The Six arrested in the Absterego Operation were released

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo issued a decision imposing injunctions against several suspects in a case being handled by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton due to suspicion of abuse of position or authority.

As announced, the Court decided on the proposal of the CS Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office from January 28, 2026, to determine the measure of custody in the criminal case against the suspects K.Z. and others. The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority from Article 383, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in connection with Article 31 of the same law.

Instead of custody, the Court ordered the suspects K.Z., A.M., E.Z., Z.H., M.B. and F.Z. imposed more prohibition measures.

According to the Court’s decision, the suspect K.Z. it is prohibited to perform the duties of the Assistant Minister for Transport and Education in the Ministry of Education of the Sarajevo Canton, as well as all other duties in that ministry. He is also prohibited from performing the function of the president of the Commission for the implementation of the procedure by public invitation for the appointment of members of the examination commission for passing the driving test, as well as all jobs related to passing driving tests for motor vehicles in all authorities on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Suspects A.M., E.Z., Z.H., M.B. and F.Z. a ban was imposed on the work of a member of the Examination Commission for passing the driving test of the Ministry of Education of the Canton of Sarajevo, as well as all work related to the passing of driving tests for motor vehicles in all bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition, all suspects were ordered to prohibit meeting and contacting each other in any way, as well as banning contact with other co-suspects in this case.

At the same time, the court decided to release all the suspects immediately, the CS Prosecutor’s Office announced.
