Last night, the summer tourist season opened in Trebinje, during which the first Wine Festival will be held, which will bring together 40 producers from six countries.
The summer season opened with a concert by regional music star Aco Pejović on the plateau of the Cultural Center, which gathered a large number of Trebinje residents and guests.
The first open-air Wine Festival “Vinefine 2024” is scheduled for today, which will bring together wine producers from the region and five local food producers.
Serbian actor Ivan Bosiljčić will perform in the entertainment part of the program.
Trebinje was visited by more than 10,000 tourists during the May Day and Easter holidays, and 15,000 overnight stays were achieved, said the spokesman of the city’s Tourist Organization, Nikola Kokić.
Kokić said that from the conversation with the hoteliers and catering workers, a joint conclusion was reached that the visit for the May Day and Easter holidays this year exceeded all expectations.
“That period of the year has become a kind of brand and motive for travel for people from the region. We hope that it will remain so, and that this will be a prelude to what the summer will offer and that it will be historic according to the results in tourist traffic,” Kokić said.
He specified that during the May Day and Easter holidays, Trebinje was visited by the most tourists from neighboring Serbia and Montenegro, but also that there were guests from distant European countries, as well as from Asia.
“This all shows that Trebinje has grown into a serious tourist destination, and we hope that this trend will continue throughout 2024, and it is up to all of us from the Tourist Organization and actors from the tourism industry to preserve and improve this trend,” he said.
