The search in Serbia for two-year-old Danka Ilić, after the ground search was suspended, entered the third day. The police announced that they are continuing intensive operational work in order to establish all the facts and circumstances related to the child’s disappearance. The girl disappeared on Tuesday, in the Banjsko Polje neighborhood near Bor.

Ministry of Interior of Serbia: Do not publish unverified information

The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals not to publish unverified and inaccurate information, as this jeopardizes the investigation, whose goal is to find the girl as soon as possible, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

“The safety and finding of the girl is an absolute priority that is above all other interests,” the statement said.

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working intensively to find the girl, as well as to establish all the facts and circumstances related to her disappearance, according to the announcement.

Dejan Ševković from GSS: Tense situation, difficult search conditions

Dejan Ševković from the Mountain Rescue Service, who participated in the search for the missing girl near Bor for more than 20 hours, tells RTS that the situation on the ground was tense and the conditions difficult.

We can say that a large part has been searched, but there is always a five to ten percent probability that we cannot confirm that the child is not there, notes Ševković.

Reduced number of policemen in Banjsko polje, false alarm that Danka was found

The number of police officers in Banjsko polje has been visibly reduced, but patrols are still stationed near the house from which the girl disappeared. Access is allowed only to relatives.

The operational work of the police continues. The police are checking the base stations, and the examination of the parents’ mobile phones should determine who they were in contact with during the period of Danka’s disappearance.

People who were nearby immediately before or after the girl’s disappearance are also expected to be questioned.

These activities do not indicate suspicion of specific persons, but are part of an intensified investigation.

During the night, information appeared that Danka had been found, which turned out to be incorrect.

After two days of searching for two-year-old Danka Ilić in the Banjsko Polje settlement near Bor, the police announced that they are suspending the search, because everything indicates that the girl is not in that area, which is 10 square kilometers in size.

Policemen, rescuers and citizens were looking for the girl. The police continue intensive operational work to determine all facts and circumstances related to the disappearance of the child, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner.

We remind you that the girl Danka Ilić, who disappeared on Tuesday at 1:45 p.m., has brown hair, brown eyes and is about 85 centimeters tall. The FIND ME! system was launched in Serbia for the first time, Federalna writes.
