The Third Edition of the international Silver Frame Film Festival from July 16

The third edition of the international film Silver Frame Festival will be held this year from July 16 to 19. This festival connects people, communities and generations through film, education and cultural exchange, the organizers said.

During the four festival days, Srebrenica and Bratunac will become the center of a film, educational and rich cultural program that will include feature and short films, competitive selections, workshops, and various masterclass lectures. The program will be organized in the Srebrenica House of Culture, Bratunac House of Culture, Cinema Room Emmaus and Open Air Cinema Emmaus, and along the Drina river.

One of the most interesting segments of this year’s program is the first edition of the Silver Frame Doc Academy, in which young authors from all over Europe will participate. The participants, with the support of international mentors, will develop and realize four documentaries inspired by people, stories and life in this area.

The festival also continues the Silver Frame Green Film Residency program dedicated to ecology, sustainable development and filmmaking by young authors, who will develop and shoot their films in direct contact with the local community. This year’s film program includes a competition program for short films, student films, the Green Short Film selection and the Shorts Spotlight program. The audience will have the opportunity to watch a series of feature films made in cooperation with international partners, including the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Sarajevo, Doxumentale Berlin, Goethe-Institut in BiH, Institut Français de Bosnie-Herzégovine, MedFilm Festival Rome and Sarajevo Film Festival.

The festival organizes acting workshops, an educational program for young people, a masterclass, the “Travelling to France” program, as well as meetings between the participants and the audience, along with camping evenings and discussions about the film. The festival continues its mission to build a meeting space through the art of film and strives to present Srebrenica and Bratunac as places of culture, creativity and international cooperation.

“Coming to Srebrenica and Bratunac, the festival aims to shape and educate new generations in an area without cinema halls and without the habit of watching movies together. In such an environment, it grows into more than an artistic event and becomes a space for meeting, understanding, learning, love and friendship,”!says Ado Hasanović, artistic director of the Festival.

The festival is organized by the Citizens’ Association Admon Film in cooperation with the EMMAUS International Solidarity Forum, local and international partners.
