The President of the Safe Srpska Movement (PSS) Draško Stanivuković announced today that he is giving up his candidacy for the President of the Republic of Srpska, and that the PSS will support Branko Blanuša for the President of the RS and Marinko Božović for the member of the BiH Presidency in the upcoming elections.

“We made this decision independently and without anyone’s interference, as someone wants to impose. I remind you that there were rumors that I would be a candidate for the president of Republika Srpska and that Dodik would support me. Here, you see that none of that is true,” Stanivuković said.

He claims that this decision was made even though, as he says, all polls show that he has the greatest trust among citizens as a candidate for the president of the RS.

“It is known that SDS did not give up on its candidates, and we sincerely want changes in the RS and that is why we took a few steps back. Therefore, we support SDS candidates for individual functions and invite all others to do so,” he stated and added that he is convinced that the People’s Front will also make such a decision.

    Unanimously adopted candidate parties

“After the session of the PSS Main Board and Presidency, Stanivuković said that the party unanimously adopted the candidate lists for the upcoming general elections, which will be submitted to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

He stated that the PSS established nine lists for the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and three lists for the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that the party is entering the elections with “full potential”.

Stanivuković said that in the previous three to four months, talks were held with opposition partners with the aim of reaching an agreement on common candidates, stating that the PSS believed that it had a candidate who could achieve victory in the elections.

He added that the Serbian Democratic Party and the List for Justice and Order have in the meantime made their own decisions about candidates for other positions.
