The total Debt of BH Drivers for Traffic Offenses is almost 60 million BAM

The total debt of BiH drivers for traffic offenses is almost 60 million BAM, and the total debt of drivers in the Federation of BiH is almost double than the one in Republika Srpska.

Goran Rakic, Head of the Cabinet of the Director in this agency, says that the total debt is 58,289,438.5 BAM, and the total number of orders is 570,468.

“Out of the total debt, debt of drivers in the FBiH is 36.488.101,5 BAM, while in RS it amounts to 19.606.688 BAM,” Rakic said.

He pointed out that the highest amount of money for traffic offenses was owed individually by persons from the Sarajevo Old City municipality, 94,150 BAM in 157 orders.

Milan Tesic, the Head of the Department for Drivers, Vehicles and Roads at the RS Traffic Safety Agency, says the offenses committed by RS drivers as well as other traffic participants mostly refer to alcohol and speed.

Tesic added that charging is a major problem, if the offender does not have any property.

“In this way, the Tax Administration of RS cannot charge those minor offenses, or if someone drives a car that is not owned by him and makes misdemeanors – there is simply no mechanism to charge that offense if there is no property on himself,” Tesic says, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.
