The trade union consumer basket for September 2021 amounted to 2.152.51 BAM according to the calculation of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

It is 372.30 BAM cheaper than in the previous month, the union stated.

This reduction is exclusively related to the fact that in August, the purchase of books and school supplies for two children was included in the costs.

The average salary in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) for July 2021 was 995 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Bureau of Statistics) and is 4 BAM lower than in August. The coverage of the trade union consumer basket with the average salary is 46.22 percent.

When calculating the union consumer basket, the average salary in FBiH and the minimum cost of living of a family of four (parents and two children) were taken into account, assuming that one child is a high school student and the other a primary school student.

The consumer basket consists of the following categories: food 44.8 percent%, housing and communal services 14.5 percent, hygiene and health maintenance 6.9 percent, education and culture 7.9 percent, clothing and footwear 13.9 percent, transport 6, 4 percent, and household maintenance 5.6 percent, Federalna writes.
