Red Cross Volunteers helped Children to overcome the Trauma from Floods

Red CrossVolunteers of the Red Cross worked with children from Topcic Polje in order to provide them with a psychological help after those children suffered a great trauma during the floods in May last year, when many of them lost their homes.

“The property damage is recoverable, houses can be built again, but the pain that all children felt and that what they have lost, cannot be compensated with money. We went to Topcic Polje every Wednesday in order to work with those children. Their smiles are our greatest award“, said the coordinator of the project, Mirela Hodzic.

This project has been funded by the Red Cross of  the city Zenica in the cooperation with MFCK.

“The children were continuously arriving, every week, thirty of them. They worked with our volunteers. We solved certain problems together with them and children started to cooperate better within the group“, said one of the volunteers of this project.

Within the Red Cross Zenica, the whole team for psycho-social help to citizens who were affected by the catastrophic floods during last year, was formed.
