The Trial begins to Borislav Gligorevic accused of War Crimes

The trial of Borislav Gligorevic, accused of rape committed in 1992 in Liplje near Zvornik, will begin today in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Gligorevic is accused of having committed a crime against humanity in 1992 as a member of the Republika Srpska Army and the “White Eagles” unit of the Zvornik Territorial Defense.

According to the indictment, at the end of May and the beginning of June 1992, in the town of Liplje, where the aforementioned unit held several hundred civilians of Bosniak nationality in illegal detention, alone and with other members of the unit, he committed rape and sexual abuse, using force and the threat of weapons.
