In the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), a status conference and the start of the trial of the three accused for crimes committed in the Prijedor camps are scheduled for thisweek.

Slavko Puhalic, Dragan Skrbic, and Rajko Damjanovic are accused of having committed crimes in the camps “Trnopolje” and “Keraterm” during a wide and systematic attack directed at the civilian population of Bosniak and Croat nationality in the area of Prijedor and its surroundings, and their trial should begin tomorrow, September 5th.

On the same day, the defense of Milan Trisic, who is on trial for crimes committed in the Bratunac area, is scheduled to present its closing arguments.

The indictment accuses Trisic that, as a member of the Territorial Defense (TO), he participated in the persecution of Bosniak civilians – imprisonment, forced disappearance, torture, and murders in Bratunac.

Puhalic is charged as an interrogator and deputy warden of the “Trnopolje” camp and a superior person in all guard shifts, while the others are charged as guards in the camps – that they participated in the execution of a joint criminal enterprise, carried out persecution on a discriminatory basis, based on national, political and religious affiliation. Puhalic, Skrbic, and Damjanovic previously denied guilt for the crimes committed in the Prijedor camps.

This week, trials for crimes committed in Teslic, Buzim, Vlasenica, Nevesinje, Sarajevo, Zvornik, Sokolac, and Vogosca continue, Detektor reports.
