Turnover in betting shops in the Federation of BiH last year amounted to more than 1.721 billion BAM, which is an increase of about nine million BAM compared to 2022.

What is particularly interesting, as the director of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šerif Isović, said at the annual press conference on Wednesday, is that last year’s payments that were tax-free amounted to 1.251 billion BAM, while those on which tax is paid amounted to 251.2 million BAM.

He added that betting shops currently have 5,285 employees.

When it comes to the turnover of betting shops by cantons, the largest share is held by the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (316 million BAM).

In 2023, there were a total of 11 betting shops with 2,132 payment places, then 24 slot machines with 94 business units and one casino, Fena news agency writes.
