The two-day Session of the Peace Implementation Council has begun

A two-day session of the Peace Implementation Council has begun in Sarajevo. The meeting was organized in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of the Troika parties from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Troika from Republika Srpska, and the HDZ BiH were invited to the meeting. The Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative, the Head of the OSCE Mission, the Ambassador of Great Britain, representatives of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the PDP, the Justice and Order List, NiP…

One of the topics is the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the unblocking of our country’s European path. The meeting comes as another in a series of attempts to re-compose the state government, which in a way began when the RS National Assembly began passing a series of laws that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared unconstitutional last week. At that time, the Troika parties distanced themselves from the SNSD, Milorad Dodik and their secessionist policies – and started looking for new partners in RS. They found them in the PDP, the Justice and Order List and the SDS.

Ahead of the meeting, Nebojša Vukanović, the leader of the Justice and Order List and a person mentioned as a possible new Minister of Security, said that it was very important to talk in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, where it should be.

“There can be no talk of any new parliamentary majority. I am not optimistic. Considering what Dragan Čović has been doing in the previous period, despite the great dissatisfaction within the HDZ itself, he continues to follow Milorad Dodik and to present himself to us as the first European in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and supports Dodik, who is persecuting the German minister from Banja Luka and is meeting with the leaders of North Korea and Iran in Moscow,” said Vukanović.

Vukanović admitted that there is a problem with the election of a member of the Presidency of BiH, but that there can be no talk of any inequality of Croats, which is what Čović is talking about.

“With four MPs and less than 10% of the parliamentary assembly and votes, the HDZ currently controls almost half of the Council of Ministers – it has taken one seat from Srbija and Republika Srpska, the Minister of Security, and does not want to give it up, because that is done by Bošković from the HDZ. There is a lot of hypocrisy and I think it will be an interesting confrontation of arguments and facts with Dragan Čović. We will see what his response will be,” said Vukanović.

The position of the HDZ of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been from the beginning that the first condition is the adoption of the electoral law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, the Electoral Law of BiH in the format that the HDZ of BiH wants is controversial for the Troika parties – the SDP, the NIP and Our Party.
