The Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) conducts the procedure of checking the diplomas of employees in the public sector in the CS.

“The procedure of verification of diplomas is performed on the basis of collecting data on completed education which are submitted to the Office by public sector institutions for their employees, which are then submitted by the Office for verification to educational institutions that issued those diplomas. Educational institutions could not in all cases certify the authenticity of diplomas and for a small part of such cases, it was determined afterward that the employers initially submitted incorrect data about their employees, “ it was announced from the Protocol and Press Service of CS.

This is an extremely important activity that seeks to detect and prosecute potential misuse of education data, committed for the purpose of employment and progress in the public sector of CS.

“The inconsistency of employee diploma data may be the result of an unintentional omission of the person in charge of submitting data to the Office, but it may also have the characteristics of intentional, organized concealment of a certain person’s diploma data and contain elements of disciplinary and criminal responsibility,” the statement said.

It was noted to the CS public sector institutions that accurate and credible data on the education of its employees should be submitted to the Office in order to carry out the activities in the best possible way.

The activity of verification of diplomas was initiated by the Office, and the Conclusion was ordered by the Government of the CS.
