The wives of the murdered Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović testified on Tuesday before the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo at the trial of the three defendants, stating that they are raising a property-legal claim in this case.
Hasena Šehović, the wife of Adis Šehović, said that there is no money that can ease the daily pain.
Answering the questions of prosecutor Šeila Heljić, Šehović said that on the critical day at half past five in the morning, she called her husband Adisa, but he did not answer the phone.
“My family assured me that everything was fine, but I had a gnawing suspicion that something had happened. I asked if Adis was okay, how is he and what can I expect? Soon my family told me that there had been a shooting and that Adis was no longer there. That’s when I fainted,” Šehović said.
She was approached by the accused Aleksandar Macan, who expressed his condolences, stressing that he did not kill her husband and that he will prove it with a lawyer.
Macan repeated the same to Alisa Vujinović, who was called by a colleague at 7:20 a.m. on October 26, 2018, to ask her “if everything is okay with her husband Davor”.
“I called him, but he didn’t answer the phone. Then I called the police and they told me that he was in a serious condition. I went with my colleague to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and soon doctor Eldin Burazerović told us that there is small chance that Davor will survive. At 12:10 p.m. they informed us that he had died,” said Vujinović.
Irma Čoko, Nermin Fazlagić and Dino Osmankadić, and Džemal Hasečić also gave their statements yesterday.
The indictment accuses Sava Marinković, Aleksandar Macan and Marko Trifković that on October 26, 2018, in the Alipašino Polje neighborhood of Sarajevo, after they were caught stealing a vehicle in Geteova Street, they fired at least 20 shots at police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, who were in a police car.
Šehović died immediately from his injuries, while Vujinović was seriously wounded and succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
The trial is scheduled to continue on April 10.
