The most famous and most watched flamenco spectacle from Spain, Gran Gala Flamenco, is coming to Sarajevo on October 2, 2025. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable musical and theatrical experience in the concert hall of the Bosnian Cultural Center that combines passion, music and dance performed by top artists from Barcelona. This prestigious event is held as part of the first Dansar Dance and Art Festival, which enriches Sarajevo’s cultural calendar from October 2 to 12.

With this event, Sarajevo is positioning itself on the cultural map of the region by bringing a program that is usually performed on the most prestigious world stages. “This is one of the most important cultural events in Sarajevo this year. Our goal is to bring dance closer to a wider audience through the Dansar Festival and show it in various artistic forms, and the arrival of Gran Gala Flamenco is certainly the strongest proof that Sarajevo can host world-class artistic performances,” said Enis Avdić, co-organizer of the Dansar Festival.

Gran Gala Flamenco is part of the permanent repertoire of the famous Palau de la Música Catalana concert hall in Barcelona, and their performances are regularly sold out. The ensemble is led by one of the most prominent flamenco guitarists of today, Juan Gómez “Chicuelo”, along with a host of exceptional dancers and musicians. The Sarajevo audience will be able to enjoy a journey through various flamenco styles – from passionate bulería and alegría to melodic tango and soleá. Flamenco has been included on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2010, and its emotional depth and expressiveness have many similarities with Bosnian sevdah.

“We are proud that the Gran Gala Flamenco is the opening of the Dansar Festival. We believe that this synergy of music and dance will inspire the audience and further strengthen the cultural offer of Sarajevo,” added Avdić.

In addition to the main spectacle, the Dansar Festival program brings a number of other attractive events. The same evening after the Gran Gala Flamenco, the audience will be able to enjoy the Fuego Dance Night party in the BKC gallery with Latin rhythms and ballroom dancing. From October 2 to 6, a solo photography exhibition “Step by Step” by Enis Avdić will be held in the BKC atrium, which shows the art of dance movement through the lens. The central part of the program is the III International DDC Open, an international competition in modern dances and street dance styles, which will gather around 1,000 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region on October 11 and 12 in Skenderija. The festival will close with dance masterclasses in Performing Arts and Street Dance disciplines, led by renowned trainers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia.

The great interest of the audience in the Gran Gala Flamenco has already been confirmed, as the evening slot at 8:00 PM sold out in record time, and therefore an additional show was opened at 5:30 PM. Tickets are available via the entrio.ba system.

The premium partner of the event is IQOS, and the Festival was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board – Visit Sarajevo, the City of Sarajevo, the Embassy of Spain in BiH, Estrella Damm, Sparkasse, Lego, Residence Inn by Marriott and other partners.
