In the territory of the city of Banja Luka, polling stations for the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina were opened this morning, with minor delays in some locations, while the City Election Commission (GIK) has not yet confirmed the opening of nine polling stations.
The president of GIK Banja Luka, Dubravko Malinić, stated that the recorded delays were primarily caused by the inability of individual polling committees to apply new election technologies, stressing that so far no irregularities have been recorded in the voting process itself.
The right to vote in the territory of Banja Luka has a total of 192,366 registered voters, who have 260 polling stations at their disposal – 259 regular ones and one polling station intended for voting in absentia and on unconfirmed ballots.
In addition to the stationary polling stations, 25 mobile teams were deployed in the field to enable voting for people who are unable to come to the polls in person.
GIK notes that the situation on the ground is continuously monitored, and information on the opening of all remaining polling stations is expected to be completed soon.
General elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina are being held today, October 4, and voters in the RS elect the president and vice-president of the RS, a member of the BiH Presidency from among the Serbian people, representatives in the National Assembly of the RS and the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Fena writes.
