komisijaCommission for implementation of the referendum on January 9 as the Day of RS will have a session in Banja Luka today.

After last session, president of this commission Siniša Karan announced the assembling of special city and municipal commission for referendum implementation, as well as that activities on the design of voting materials are in progress.

However, Mayor of the Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković reiterated that he will not assemble a municipal commission for implementation of the referendum in the RS which, as he says, violates the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Supervisor for the District Brčko also banned the referendum on the Day of RS at the territory of the District.

The Peace Implementation Council in BiH should declare on the referendum in the RS tomorrow.

Bosniak politicians are against the referendum and they claim that the referendum violates the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement, while Serb officials in the RS claim that it is a democratic right of the citizens and that they will not give up on the referendum regardless of the possible prohibitions.

Opposition in that entity claims that Dodik is using the referendum in the RS to collect political points prior to the local elections, while the SDS notes that referendum will not solve the issue of January 9, which has already been assessed unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of BiH last year.
