The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced that a mother gave birth to a baby on New Year’s Day at a medical center in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
”The birth process was successful, utilizing minimal available resources. Both the mother and the child are in good health,” the PRCS said.
In November, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that women and newborns bear the brunt of Israel’s war with Gaza, making it seriously difficult for women to access emergency obstetric services.
Fuel shortages as a result of Israeli attacks on the Strip have also threatened the lives of premature babies who rely on neonatal and intensive care services.
