Tim Clancy and Jim Marshall, winners of the 6th April Award in 2015 for extraordinary help during the floods of 2014, organized a charity dinner for help for refugees in refugee camps.
Clancy and Marshall spent a lot of time with migrants on their journey, using all available resources to support them and raise the awareness of the necessity of such an act in all citizens of BiH.
They organized a charity dinner and auction aimed at collecting resources in order to continue to help them. Charity dinner was held at the restaurant Cetiri sobe gospodje Safije (4 Rooms of Mrs Safija).
Four course dinner with wines included cost 100 BAM, the reservation, due to limited space, was necessary, and all the funds are planned for financing aid for refugees.
Auction of works of art was organized together with dinner, and the photos that Jim Marshall made during the trip on refugee route in recent months were exhibited as well.
“With the money we collected, we will purchase school supplies and materials for children in refugee camps near Athens, supplies for refugees in Idomeni and Belgrade and other necessities for our team of volunteers on the terrain,” said Tim Clancy.
“Gil Scott Heron once said that no one can do everything, but that everyone can do something. Last night, about 60 people did ‘something’ to help in a way they can.”
