The search for the missing young man M.V. in Stolac continues today, Ljudevit Marić told the spokesperson of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina Neretva Canton.

Members of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection for water and underwater rescue, DVD Stolac, Police Stolac, GSS Čapljina and GSS Čitluk and Civil Protection Stolac took part in the search operation.

Members of the competent services conducting the search were joined by numerous locals and volunteers, and the Civil Protection of HNK announced in its daily bulletin that about 40 people participated in the search on Wednesday.

The search itself, Marić tells Bljesak.info, is still hampered by the high water level and turbidity of the Bregava River.

Let us remind you that on Tuesday, the body of the young man was pulled out of the Jeep Kompas vehicle, which ended up in the Bregava river at the entrance to Stolac. A car was also pulled out of the river with the help of a special crane, and the necessary expert examinations, which were ordered by the prosecutor on duty, are underway.

On Wednesday, the Bijeli Brijeg City Mortuary in Mostar completed the autopsy of the body of the fatally wounded young man F. S. (19) from Stolac. The autopsy performed by Dražen Damjanjuk determined that the death occurred by drowning. The funeral of the tragically killed young man will take place today in the Roman Catholic cemetery of Todoruše-Crnići.

The disappearance was reported to the Stolac police by R.V. in the night from Sunday to Monday at 00:45. She reported that her son M.V. was in a café in Stolac with F.S. and that he did not come home, as well as that he was unavailable on the phone.

The Ministry of the Interior of the HNK announced that an hour after midnight, the father of F.S. came to the police, together with S.P., who gave the police officers information about how he gave his vehicle to M.V. and F.S. to go to Vidovo polje, after which all traces of them are lost. Immediately afterwards, during the night, police patrols scoured the town and the wider area, but were unable to find any clues until Monday morning.
