Mayor Benjamina Karić and Mayor of Istanbul, the Cultural and Economic Center of Turkey Ekrem İmamoğlu met in Istanbul.

“The cities of Sarajevo and Istanbul are twin cities, and Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and I are true friends. Today, Sarajevo and Istanbul are closer than ever,” said Mayor Karić.

She said that through the Network of Balkan Cities B40 and several meetings in recent years, mutual friendly ties between the two cities have been improved.

Sarajevo is expected to host the “Balkan Summit” in 2025, where issues related to climate change, democracy, transport, the environment and other sectors that have an impact on local self-government will be discussed.

“We have laid good foundations for cooperation, now it is up to us to build a happier and more prosperous future for our cities and citizens through direct contacts and project planning,” said the mayor of Sarajevo.

We agreed that the most valuable resource is our people, the citizens of Sarajevo and Istanbul, who have one thing in common – openness, empathy, cordiality, charity, Klix.ba writes.
