The presentation of the results of the project ‘Economic Empowerment of Women in Agribusiness’ will be held on 27 August in Žepče.
The project that was jointly implemented by the FBiH Gender Center and the Dutch Organization SNV as part of the program of localization of gender in the FBiH, with the financial support of the UN Women organization, contributed to the economic independence and social inclusion of women in municipality Žepče, and increased the opportunities in rural communities in initiating self-employment in the area of the production of gherkins and strawberries.
Ten beneficiaries of the project successfully completed computer training and this enabled them to acquire the necessary knowledge for faster employment.
The project includes 20 women from the category of unemployed people that have residence and possess agricultural land in the municipality of Žepče.
The partner organization is the local community Vinište, that was awarded IT equipment, and one of the results of the project is the formation of a network of women in municipality Žepče.
The results of the project will be published and the activities will be presented that were realized from January to August 2013.
