Which countries are the biggest foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in 2020, what is BiH exporting to Afghanistan, which destination route was announced by Wizz Air…

You can find the answers to these questions below in the weekly review of the most important business news and events in BiH, Biznis Info writes.

”The inflow of foreign direct investment in BiH in 2020 amounted to 678.2 million BAM, according to data from the Central Bank of BiH (CBBiH), which published the results of the statistical survey on foreign direct investment for 2020, ” it was announced by the CBBiH.

In terms of geographical distribution, the largest inflow of investments during 2020 is from Croatia (149.4 million BAM), and then from Serbia (135.3 million BAM).• Wizz Air announced a new route Banja Luka – Hamburg

Wizz Air, the fastest-growing European airline, this week announced a new route Banja Luka – Hamburg (Germany). Flights on this line start on December 17th, 2021, twice a week.

”Tickets are already available online at wizzair.com and via the mobile application, at prices as low as 29.99 euros/58.99 BAM, ”it was said from this company.• Hrvic: Thousands of our workers worked as one

One of the largest business systems in BiH, AS Holding, employs 4.000 workers, but ten times as many people work for them in all segments of the system within small and medium-sized suppliers.

Rusmir Hrvic, President of the Management Board of AS Holding, spoke about the importance of large companies for the economy of a country, what they do to keep young people in BiH, and how much attention they pay to socially responsible business.• BiH had significant exports of weapons and ammunition to Afghanistan

After the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, major changes will happen that will certainly affect trade relations. This is likely to affect trade with BiH, which is not particularly large in volume, but the amounts are not negligible, especially for one industry branch.

As of July this year, goods worth around 3.7 million BAM were exported from BiH to Afghanistan. The largest part of that, in the amount of around 3.2 million BAM, referred to the export of weapons and ammunition. It is interesting that the export to Afghanistan last year was only 143.782 BAM, but in 2019 it amounted to 12.3 million BAM and in 2018 as much as 23.5 million BAM, which is not negligible. In both cases, almost the entire amount referred to weapons and ammunition, their parts, and supplies.
