According to the information from the Statistics Agency of BiH, the tourists made 173 863 overnight stays which is 2 % more than in May this year and 7,3 % less than in June last year.

There are two cities which are mostly visited this year by tourists: those are Sarajevo and Mostar.

The characteristics and responses by tourists can be read on the following lines.

Sarajevo, the Bosnian Capital

Sarajevo welcomes you always, whether it is fresh and cold winter with a lot of snow in the Olympic mountains around, or in the summer, with Sarajevo Film Festival or some other festive events. Young or not, sportsman or adventurer, there is always some happening for you to enjoy it for days. Or simply take a walk and travel trough times and history: Start from the ottoman style downtown, pass the place where started world war the first, check some austro-hungarian shop windows, have a beer in a Tito’s fun pub and finish in a Wilson’s promenade, shooting the photos of Miljacka river down the alley.

Mostar, Mediterranean capital of Bosnia

I could never decide about the Mostar, what is more attractive for me there. Climate, old town or all those Mediterranean flavors in the food, drinks and air. First, when you came there, you fall in love with warm sunbeams all over the space. Then you get speechless with the appearance of the old bridge in front of you, unique in many ways. Together with the rest of the old town of Mostar this old bridge makes one unit, just like a small, fitted music box with numerous tunes for everyone’s soul. if you are still hungry, there is a lot of small restaurants, left and right down the pedestrian area. Don’t need to explain variety of food and drinks served here.

Mostar is capital of Bosnian Mediterranean, south part, named Herzegovina. Not far away from Mostar is Pocitelj, another architecture pearl. Even closer is Medjugorje, a popular site of religious pilgrimage since ’80s from the previous century. But, if you like to fulfill your soul with some natural, breath taking scenes, drive next 20 kilometers and visit Kravice, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this part of Europe.
