Total Seasonal Turnover of distributive Trade increased in Bosnia-Herzegovina

The total seasonal turnover of distributive trade in the fourth quarter of 2019 in Bosnia-Herzegovina increased by 1.5 percent compared to the third quarter of 2019.

Turnover was recorded in the wholesale trade in the amount of 1.0 percent and in the retail trade in the amount of 3.0 percent, while in the wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles there was a decrease of 3.6 percent.

The largest increase in turnover was recorded in the sale of motorcycles, parts and accessories for motorcycles and maintenance and repair of motorcycles by 21.9 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in the motor trade in the amount of 5.8 percent.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the distributive trade turnover index in BiH recorded a growth of 24.5 percent compared to the base year (2015).

The growth of the turnover index was recorded in wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 40.3 percent, in wholesale trade by 19.5 percent and in retail trade by 30.0 percent compared to the base (2015) year.

The given data are seasonally adjusted.

The total seasonally adjusted retail trade turnover in Bosnia-Herzegovina in December 2019, seen at current prices, increased by 0.7% compared to November 2019.

The decrease in turnover was recorded in the trade of food products (food, beverages and tobacco) in 1.2%, while the non-food products trade recorded a slight increase of 0.04%.

Viewed at constant prices, the total seasonally adjusted retail trade turnover in Bosnia in December 2019 increased by 0.9% compared to November 2019.

The decrease in turnover was recorded in the trade of food products (food, beverages and tobacco) in the amount of 1.5%, while in non-food products trade there was an increase of 1.1%.

In December 2019, the total retail trade turnover index in Bosnia recorded a nominal increase of 32.3%, while the real growth was 33.0% compared to the base year (2015). In December 2019, the total retail trade turnover in Bosnia, observed at current prices, increased by 4.9% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Sales of food products (food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 10.4%, while non-food products increased by 5.6% compared to December 2018.

Viewed at constant prices, total retail trade turnover grew 7.3% compared to December 2018. Food products turnover increased by 9.1%, while non-food products sales grew by 11.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Agency for Statistics.
