Total Seasonally adjusted Industrial Production recorded Increase in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Total seasonally adjusted industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina in January 2020, compared to December 2019, is increased by 4.3%, according to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Agency for Statistics.

In January 2020, compared to January 2019, industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the calendar adjusted, is increased by 2.8%.

In January 2020, compared to December 2019, production of Capital goods increased by 8.9%, production of Intermediate goods increased by 7.8%, production of Consumer durables increased by 4.7%, production of Energy increased by 3.0%, and production of Consumer non-durables increased by 1.0%.

In January 2020 compared to January 2019, production of Energy increased by 10.1%, production of Intermediate goods increased by 5.0%, while production of Consumer non-durables decreased by 2.2%, production of Capital goods decreased by 5.7%, and production of Consumer durables decreased by 19.1%.

According to sections of KD BiH 2010, seasonally adjusted industrial production in January 2020 compared to December 2019 in section Manufacturing increased by 5.2%, in section Mining and quarrying increased by 3.9%, and in section Electricity and gas supply increased by 2.1%.

In January 2020, compared to January 2019, calendar adjusted industrial production increased in section Mining and quarrying by 13.4%, in section Electricity and gas supply increased by 11.8%, while in section Manufacturing decreased by 2.2%.

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from seasonally adjusted indices) in January 2020 compared to December 2019, the highest growth is recorded in division 08 – Other mining and quarrying (46.9%) and division 21 – Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (30.0%). The largest decline in industrial production in January 2020 compared to December 2019 was recorded in division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (50.9%) and division 32 – Other manufacturing (39.6%).

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from calendar adjusted indices) in January 2020 compared to January 2019, the highest growth is recorded in division 08 – Other mining and quarrying (68.7%) and division 21 – Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (42.7%). The largest decline in industrial production in January 2020 compared to January 2019, was recorded in division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (85.1%) and division 24 – Manufacture of basic metals (28.6%).
