Day trips to Mostar spend an average of 23,16 euros, and from that amount they spend most on purchases (11 euros), and 10 euros on hospitality services, said Ramiz Bašić, the expert for tourism of the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and citing the latest research.

Guests who spend a night in Mostar spend around 74 euros per person, and most of it is spent on accommodation. There is also considerable spending on purchases and hospitality services outside of accommodation.

Spending on culture came out to around 4 euros per person per day, and other expenses are around 2 euros.

Regarding tourist offers, the tourism expert thinks that it could be better, especially in the reconstruction of devastated or destroyed cultural-historical monuments and to ascribe value to these objects.

Also, it is necessary to work more on offers in rural tourism, to improve offers for accommodation and capacity, to make modern campsites, to finish the construction of a hotel that is currently in construction, and to organize quality events in conjunction with tourist offers.

He noted that there is interest of tourists for Herzegovinian local products, as well as trips for tourists from the Adriatic coast to visit Mostar and the surrounding area, such as Počitelj, Međugorje, Herzegovinian wine routes, Blagaj, and to renew interest for the Vjetrenica Cave near Ravno.
