The Director of the National Association of Tourist Agencies (Juta) in Serbia, Aleksandar Seničić, announced that Serbia will, along with five countries from the region, form a Southeast Europe tourist association in order to attract tourists from the East.

According to him, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Albania and Macedonia will comprise the association.

Seničić announced that the protocol for cooperation will be signed in February at the Tourism Fair in Belgrade.

“The plan is to develop joint programs that would keep tourists in the region for seven to fourteen days, and during that time would also visit two or three other countries”, said Seničić.

He added that a part of the plan is to also include Romania and Bulgaria.

According to Seničić, it is expected that after two years of implementing these joint programs, the number of tourists visiting the region would increase from 50% to 70%.
