Trade Between BiH and Other Countries an Upward Trend

Trade between BiH and other countries for the first two months of this year recorded a significant growth.

In the first two months, BiH exported 1,253 billion KM, which is 15.7 percent more than in the first two months of last year, and at the same time imported goods wroth 2,148 billion KM, which is 10,8 percent more than in the same period from last year. At this time, the export-import ratio amounted to 58,3 percent, according to statistics from the BiH Agency for Statistics.

The biggest contribution to repairing the export images in the first two months had a significant growth of exports of electricity of 308,9 percent, while its imports at the same time fell by 46 percent.

The reason for this different is that last year’s bad weather in February blocked the energy capacities of BiH, so there were no exports in that month.

Export of goods from BiH to CEFTA countries in January and February amounted to 330 million KM, which is 15 percent more than in the same period in 2012, while imports increased by 2,8 percent and was 443 million KM.

Statistics from the BiH Agency for Statistics showed that the export trend strengthened towards CEFTA member countries and the EU.

Exports to EU countries in the first two months amounted to 769 million KM, which is 10,7 percent more than in the same period from last year, while imports amounted to 1,011 billion KM, which is 9,3 percent more than in the same period from last year.

During the first two months BiH mostly exported to Germany (214,6 million KM), Croatia (182,9 million KM), and Italy, and it imported from Russia (280,64 million KM), Germany (233,19 million KM), and Croatia (250,30 million KM).
