Yesterday, the 24th Prayer Day for the Homeland of Catholic believers of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna was held at Bobovac, as well as the 22nd Military-Police Prayer Pilgrimage, organized by the Military Ordinariate of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH).

The solemn Prayer for the Homeland was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH Slaven Galic with the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the AFBiH Major General Tomo Kolenda and the Commander of the Support Command of the AFBiH Major General Zdravko Rezo, then the Deputy Minister of Security of BiH Ivica Bosnjak, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Sabolic, the President of the Federation of BiH (FBiH) Lidija Bradara, the President of the Croatian National Assembly of BiH Dragan Covic, and other officials from all levels of government.

At the foot of historic Bobovac, numerous believers, members of the Ministry of Defense and the AFBiH, and police structures gathered to express, through joint prayer, gratitude and faith in a peaceful and secure future for the Homeland and its surroundings.

The Archbishop of Vrhbosna and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate, Mons. Tomo Vuksic, with the concelebration of several priests as well as representatives of the Military Ordinariate of the Republic of Croatia, led by the General Vicar Ilija Jakovljevic, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and guided the faithful in prayer, while Deputy Minister Galic and General Kolenda led the Ministry of Defense and the AFBiH.

“The participation of members of the AFBiH and police units is a strong message of dedication to peace. Bobovac reminds us of the importance of strengthening unity and building a safe and stable future,” emphasized, among other things, in a statement to the media, Deputy Minister of Defense Galic.

The Prayer Pilgrimage to Bobovac was initiated by Cardinal Vinko Puljic, in memory of the death of the Bosnian Queen Katarina Kosaca on October 25th, 1478, with the goal of uniting in prayer for personal needs, one’s own people, and the Homeland of BiH, but also for all the people and nations living in it, the Office for Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of BiH reported.
