Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic met on Wednesday with UN Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ingrid Macdonald, and the focus of the meeting was on relations between BiH and the United Nations, with an emphasis on the current situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and projects that contribute to the recovery and reforms in BiH after the crisis caused by the pandemic.

Minister Turkovic assessed the cooperation between BiH and the United Nations as successful and thanked for the cooperation and support that the UN has continuously provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina through numerous projects.

She added that BiH will continue to contribute within the UN in activities undertaken in order to maintain international peace and security, promote and protect human rights and achieve sustainable development, including the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

For her part, Resident Coordinator Macdonald stressed that UN agencies are ready to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina in resolving the life issues of BiH citizens and expressed full readiness for cooperation.

She reported that the UN, in partnership with local authorities and other organizations, is working on recovery plans when it comes to the socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the population.
