Improving international cooperation in the fight against corruption and complex forms of crime, as well as strengthening the capacities of judicial institutions were the topics of today’s meeting at the Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, which was visited by the Director of the US Embassy Office in Banja Luka, Spencer Fields.
During the visit, Fields talked with Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Merima Mešanović; Legal Advisor at the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Danijela Đerić, also attended the meeting.
On that occasion, the results of the work of the Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office were presented, as well as the plans and priorities of this judicial institution for the upcoming period.
The Chief Cantonal Prosecutor, Mešanović, emphasized the significance of international cooperation and exchange of experience in preventing and processing corruption and other complex forms of crime.
The importance of continued support from international partners to judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina was also emphasized, with the aim of improving their work and strengthening the legal security of citizens and the rule of law.
The possibilities of continuing and further enhancing cooperation were also considered, including support for the Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in areas of mutual interest.
