The traditional reception to celebrate B&H Statehood day (25 November) was held last night at the B&H Presidency. B&H Presidency members Željko Komšić and Bakir Izetbegović were the hosts of this event.
Numerous prominent guests from the political, academic, cultural, sport and public life of B&H, as well as the diplomatic member corps in B&H attended the reception.
The Chairman of the B&H Presidency Željko Komšić, instead of an official opening speech, invited a group of young musicians “Bel canto” from Zenica to perform the composition “Stani Neretvo” (Stop Neretva). He highlighted the importance of celebrating B&H Statehood Day as an important day for all citizens of B&H.
The B&H Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović recalled the 70th anniversary of the Antifascist Council of National Liberation of B&H in Mrkonjić Grad and stressed that historical facts clarify that B&H was not created by the Yugoslav constitution but as a republic with its defined sovereignty and territory became a part of Yugoslavia.
