Train connecting BiH Capital and the Seaside is operational again

The Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that the seasonal passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo will run again in the period from June 2. until 27.08.2023. years. Traffic will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The departure of the train from Sarajevo is planned at 07:15, and the arrival in Ploče at 10:36. The return of the train from Ploče is planned at 18:26, and the arrival in Sarajevo at 21:51. The price of a one-way ticket is BAM 25. A return ticket costs BAM 41.40 and is valid for one month.

Passengers who are entitled to a 30% discount (students, journalists, pensioners and groups of over 6 adult passengers) pay BAM 18.60 for a one-way ticket, and BAM 37.20 for a return ticket. Passengers who are entitled to a 50% discount (children aged 4 to 12, blind persons and their companions, groups of over 30 adult passengers) pay BAM 14.30 for a one-way ticket, and BAM 28.60 for a return ticket.

Passengers who want to travel by this train should buy a train ticket no later than the day before the planned journey until 12 o’clock, and on that occasion leave the following at the ticket office: name and surname, year of birth and passport number. This procedure is mandatory for the purpose of more efficient customs control and shortening the time of detention when crossing the state border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia in Capljina.

Tickets can be purchased at sales points in Sarajevo, Hadžići, Konjic, Mostar and Čapljina. If the passenger starts his journey in Ploče, he will buy the ticket on the day of the journey from the train conductor. The ticket can be paid in convertible marks or in euros. Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo tickets cannot be purchased online.

Due to the introduction of the seasonal passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo in the period from 02.06. until 27.08.2023. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the departure times of the afternoon train from Čapljina to Sarajevo will be moved at 7:29 p.m., from Mostar at 7:56 p.m., from Konjic at 8:45 p.m., and from Hadžić at 9:34 p.m. In the mentioned period, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, trains will run on the route Sarajevo – Čapljina – Sarajevo (number 723/722) as before, departing from Čapljina at 16:42h, from Žitomislić at 16:54h, from Mostar at 5:09 p.m., from Jablanica Grad at 5:42 p.m., from Konjic at 5:58 p.m., and from Hadžić at 6:47 p.m.

Also, in the period from June 2, 2023. until August 27, 2023. year, trains number 2172/2173 operate on the route Sarajevo – Visoko – Sarajevo on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (as a connection of train number 1390, with departures from Sarajevo at 22:02 and from Visoko at 23:06). On other days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), trains number 2170/2171 run on the route Sarajevo – Visoko – Sarajevo.
