The Tranche from the IMF in February, RS gets 50 Million BAM

“Republika Srpska (RS) would like for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to keep an arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), “ said entity Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic yesterday, expecting the funds from the first tranche to be allocated in the first half of February.

She welcomed the adoption of the budget of the BiH institutions and Federation of BiH, stating that she expects the IMF board of directors to approve a new loan tranche for BiH, in amount of 148 million BAM on February 9th.

Out of this amount, the RS should get amount of 50 million BAM. Cvijanovic told reporters that it was a shame that this arrangement was in a standstill, and that it is a challenge to be held in the election year.

“We are aware of the fact that parliaments will not work during all the months, as they usually do,” added Cvijanovic, stating that all levels of authority in BiH should be equally devoted to fulfilling the conditions for continuing the IMF arrangement.

She opposed the possibility that the Office of the High Representative (OHR) imposes changes to the Election Law of BiH, stressing that it is necessary to adopt laws which will enable everyone in BiH to feel safe and protected.

“If the OHR imposed changes to the Election Law, this would cause crash of BiH, “ the entity Prime Minister claims.

She does not see the purpose of the OHR in BiH, and considers that the European Union (EU) is a partner with whom it will be much easier to talk when the OHR closes.
