The dairies from B&H which were not granted the permit for the export of milk and dairy products to the countries of the EU were approved to export those products by land across the territory of the EU to the other countries, confirmed the Veterinary Office of B&H yesterday.
That practically means that the overland route towards the Russian, Turkish, and other major markets is now open for milk and dairy products which were not produced by the four dairies which were granted permission for the export to the countries of the EU. That should certainly contribute to the increase in the production of milk in B&H.
According to the Veterinary Office of B&H, they were notified by the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission. The notification states that facilities which were not approved for the export from B&H to the market of the EU (i.e. are not on the list of approved facilities) can conduct transit of dairy products produced by using processing procedures stipulated by the current regulation to the other countries by land across the territory of the EU.
“Compliance with that regulation ensures that such shipments are followed by an appropriate model of transportation certificates”, the Veterinary Office of B&H stated. Moreover, they added that all subjects interested for the transit of these products can contact the Veterinary Office of B&H for the purpose of preparation of all necessary procedures.
