On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the death of three RAI Italian state television reporters Marco Luchett, Dario D’Angelo and Alessandro Otto, who died on January 28, 1994 in Mostar in a grenade blast, flowers were laid on Tuesday.

Honoring ceremony was attended by Italian Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Nicola Minasi, representatives of the City of Mostar, the OSCE Mission to BiH, the Open Heart House Day Center and residents of the Mostar Children’s Home.

Speaking about the tragic event, Ambassador Minasi recalled that the journalists came to Mostar during the war to show the world what is happening in Mostar, especially the children of Mostar.

We are marking the anniversary of the death of our Italian journalists, but we also want to pay tribute to all the innocent victims of the war.  Humanity is the first casualty of the war and this year, when the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide and the Dayton Accords, we must pay tribute to all innocent victims, regardless of “their sides,” Minasi said.

He also said that the most important thing was to work for the protection of peace. “We want to be the defenders of peace in society and to work together in protecting peace on the way to the European Union,” Minasi said.

On January 28, 1994, RAI journalists were killed in front of a building on Fejic brothers Street in a shell blast that was fired from the western part of the city, Fena reports.
