Trump announces a Truce between Israel and Iran

US President Donald Trump announced the end of the war between Iran and Israel on the social network Truth Social.

“It is fully agreed between Israel and Iran that a complete and total ceasefire will occur in approximately six hours from now, when Israel and Iran have completed their current, final missions, lasting 12 hours, at which time the war will be considered over,” Trump wrote.

He announced that Iran would initiate the ceasefire, and that 12 hours later Israel would also cease all military operations. The two countries announced new attacks in the following hours. The Israelis announced that they would target targets in Tehran, while the Iranian military announced attacks in the Ramat Gan region near Tel Aviv.

“During any ceasefire, the other side will remain calm and respectful. Assuming everything works out as it should – and it will – I want to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for their endurance, courage and intelligence in ending what could be called the ’12-day war’. This is a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it did not, and it never will,” he added.

“I knew the time was now. The world and the Middle East are the real winners! Both nations will see immense love, peace and prosperity in their future. They have so much to gain and yet so much to lose if they stray from the path of righteousness and truth. The future of Israel and Iran is limitless and filled with great promise. God bless you both,” Trump wrote on his Truth network.

He then added that the “agreement” would not have been reached without the “talent and courage of the brilliant B-2 pilots and all those associated with that operation.”

“In a certain and very ironic way, that perfect ‘hit’, late at night, brought everyone together and the deal was done!!!” he added while talking about the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Recall that the war began on June 13 when Israel decided to attack Iran. They stated that their goal was to stop Iran’s nuclear program, but their targets were both military and civilian.

Trump dragged America into the war last weekend with an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, and then Iran responded by attacking a US base in Qatar.

However, just hours after the Iranian attack on the US base, Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries.
