US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he was stripping Joe Biden of his access to classified information and daily intelligence briefings, citing concerns about the former president’s memory and the risk to national security.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Biden “set a precedent” in 2021 by denying him access to intelligence briefings normally offered to former presidents.
He cited a special counsel report on Biden’s handling of classified documents, which described Biden as having a “bad memory.”
“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue to have access to classified information,” Trump wrote, adding: “I will always protect our national security — JOE, YOU ARE FIRED.”
