US President-elect Donald Trump has announced a multi-year plan to invest $500 billion in leading artificial intelligence companies.

President Trump has announced plans to invest billions of dollars in private sector funding to build artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States. Leading artificial intelligence companies OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle are planning a joint venture called Stargate as part of the increased investment.

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son will be received at the White House on Tuesday, along with OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Oracle’s Larry Ellison.
The executives are expected to support the plan to invest an initial $100 billion and up to $500 billion over the next four years. Spokespeople for SoftBank and OpenAI declined to comment on the reports.
