After winning the third place in the 800 m race at the World Championships in Beijing, the best BH athlete Amel Tuka stated that this victory means a dream come true to him.
“I feel really great and this is a realization of a big dream for me. This is the first medal for my country and myself, I am very happy and proud for all the people in B&H”, Tuka said.
Tuka thanked people in B&H who are following him at every competition. He pointed out that maybe he could have run better in the first 300 meters of the race in the finals.
“Maybe it would be better if I had kept pace all the time during the race, but that is not a problem for me, I am more than satisfied with this medal”, said Tuka.
In the final race in 800 m at the World Championships in Beijing today, Tuka won the third place with the 1:46.30 time.
David Lekuta Rudisha from Kenya won the first place with 1:45.84 time. The Pole Adam Kszczot won the second place with the realized time of 1:46.08.
Amel Tuka had an excellent performance in the semifinals and ran the best time among all the competitors in the semifinal races (1:44.84).
Tuka arrived in Beijing with the best time of the season, and today signed in the history of the BH athletics with the won bronze medal.
