A promotional tourist train on the Bihać–Bosanska Krupa route departed today from the Bihać Railway Station. This officially marked the start of the summer tourist season on one of the most attractive sections of the Una railway.
This project is realized through a joint effort of the Ministry of Economy of Uno-Sana Canton and the Railway of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is aimed at promoting the natural beauty of Krajina and enhancing the tourist offer in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After today’s promotional ride, the tourist train will be available to all interested passengers starting tomorrow. The train will operate every weekend during the summer months.
Passengers on the train ride will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique sights of the Una River Valley, while passing through areas considered among the most beautiful in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This tour is expected to attract a large number of local and foreign tourists, including railway enthusiasts.
The competent ministry said that the goal of the project is to further connect the tourist destinations of Bihać and Bosanska Krupa, and to create a new attraction that will contribute to the development of the local economy and the promotion of the Una-Sana Canton.
A tourist train will operate on Saturday and Sunday. The trip between Bihać and Bosanska Krupa will take less than an hour. Organizers expect strong citizens’ interest, especially during the summer season when the Una-Sana Canton records an increased number of visitors.
Today’s promotional ride brought together representatives from the government, tourist communities, and the railway sector, who stated that this is an important step toward reviving the potential of the Una railway, which was once one of the most significant railway connections in the region, Klix.ba writes.
