Tuzla International Airport expects that the number of passengers who will pass through this Airport next year should exceed 800.000, it was said during a meeting of the Airport management members, the president of the Supervisory Board, Bahrija Umihanic, and the delegation of the Government of Tuzla Canton (TC).

Lighting, parking…

During the meeting, key infrastructure projects that were implemented in the past period were presented, as well as development plans for the upcoming period. As highlighted during the meeting, thanks to focused work and a clear management approach, numerous projects have been successfully completed that have significantly raised the standards of airport infrastructure.

Representatives of the Airport management particularly highlighted the installation of approach lighting in the length of 900 meters, the construction of GATE III with a capacity of 360 passengers (two A320 aircraft), the construction of a new business facility – the atrium, the construction of a modern parking lot with a capacity of 320 spaces, the improvement of the airport’s visual identity, while the central line project is in its final phase, with commissioning expected by mid-December. It was also emphasized that certification according to EASA standards was successfully completed.

Also, next year, the implementation of three infrastructure projects of generational significance is planned, such as the installation of lights in the touchdown zones, the installation of Side Row red lights on the perimeter of the runway, and the expansion of Platform 1 from 3 to 7 parking positions, it was stated by Tuzla International Airport.

“The mentioned projects represent a key step toward fully rounding off the lighting infrastructure, which is necessary for the installation of the ILS CAT III system by Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) and a significant increase in the airport’s operability in conditions of reduced visibility,” say the officials from the Airport.

The Prime Minister of TC, Irfan Halilagic, emphasized that Tuzla International Airport is one of the most important infrastructure points of TC.

Connectivity

“The Government of TC will remain strongly committed to the further development and modernization of this system. The implemented projects and clearly defined plans show a serious, responsible, and strategic approach of the Airport management, which will ultimately contribute to strengthening economic development, attracting investments, and greater connectivity of our canton,” added Halilagic.

The management of Tuzla International Airport, as stated, remains fully committed to the implementation of all planned projects and the further strengthening of the airport’s infrastructure.
