”Major investments in infrastructure and modernization of the technical system for air traffic management are planned in all four airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH),” said the director of the Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA), Davorin Primorac.
”Reconstruction, renovation, arrangement and expansion of the building is also planned in Banja Luka. Preparatory works are planned for the introduction of radar control in the Banja Luka Approach and Airport Flight Control Unit,” said Primorac for “Vecernji list” edition for BiH.
He stated that the strategic capital investment plan for Sarajevo includes the design of a completely new control tower at a new location that the Agency has yet to determine in cooperation with Sarajevo Airport.
”In Tuzla, despite the pandemic in 2020, we completed the rehabilitation and modernization of the control tower dome, and further plans include the rehabilitation and modernization of the associated buildings of the control tower, and the arrangement of the weather park,” says Primorac.
He stated that these investments are a logical development step after taking control over the airspace of BiH and that he expects a significant increase in the volume of air traffic in the coming period.
Tuzla International Airport announced on Wednesday that more than 200.000 passengers were transported in 3 months and 18 days.
